about

Most of this album was written and recorded when I was either waiting for or recovering from open heart surgery the second in my life. I hope you enjoy this music because it does truly come from the heart. A big thanks goes out to the doctors and nurses who got me through a rough time and to my friends and my family for being there for me through all of it. Special thanks to all the musicians, Russ, Harry, the Jims, Ray, Patti, Dave, Dr. Jazz, and Kirk for sharing their talents with me on this project. Special thanks to Kirk for taking the tracks I recorded in my basement, adding to them, and bringing out the best in them.

Ode to Melancholy was based on a suggested song title by Jim Dywinski
Way of the Heart is inspired by the writings of Trappist Monk Thomas Merton
